ALTA banka joins the “My data for bank” programme

ALTA banka joins the “My data for bank” programme

ALTA banka has become a part of the “My data for bank” programme, designed by the Office for IT and eGovernment. This represents an extension of the Bank’s continuous efforts to improve customer experience and further digitalize its operations.

The “My data for bank“ programme significantly facilitates the loan application process, allowing the applicants to do it in a hassle-free manner, without any fees being charged, and most importantly, completely safely. Before this system was introduced, collecting all necessary loan-related documentation was a lengthy and cumbersome process for the applicants. However, thanks to this initiative by the Office for IT and eGovernment of the Republic of Serbia, the “My data for bank” service allows clients to apply for the loan without having to present the employment and salary statement certified by their employer, or the pension fund, for retirees. All it takes now is for them to come to the bank once and get the loan of their choice disbursed.

With the intention of adapting to its clients’ needs, their preferences and banking habits, while at the same time adapting to what modem times require, all of which is reflected in our clients expecting a seamless and effective banking experience, ALTA banka also sees specifically the use of this system as an important segment of the digitalization of its operations.

Since the Office for IT and eGovernment integrated various citizen data, obtained from the largest state authorities’ databases, it is possible for the banks to communicate only with the Office for IT and eGovernment, so the key benefit of such a programme is enhancing customer experience and minimising room for abuse. All it takes is for the loan applicant to simply submit a request on the eGovernment portal and have relevant data electronically delivered directly to the bank. After this, the requested data will be delivered to the bank which is to approve the loan application.

In addition to submitting loan applications, what has also been substantially made easy is retail loan refinancing, since the National Bank of Serbia envisages mandatory communication among the banks and as a result, the client can go only to one bank and have everything that is necessary done there.

President of the Municipality of Novi Beograd said that one of the Municipality’s priorities was to maintain playgrounds and sports courts, and to have them fully functioning by replacing old and worn park furniture, of which some is as many as around forty years old. Maintaining also applies to the areas where this furniture and equipment are set. Basically, from the time they were first made and set, they have never been replaced. “The Municipality of Novi Beograd has conducted a thorough analysis of all playgrounds and sports courts in New Belgrade and we will use the findings in our communication with various companies, such as ALTA banka, which as part of their social responsibility efforts will allocate a portion of their operating income for this specific purpose”, Bovan noted.

He pointed out that one of the priorities of the Municipality of Novi Beograd was to maintain playgrounds and sports courts, and to have them fully functioning and added that the Municipality itself had earmarked the amount of almost RSD 40 million for the purchase and refurbishment of new sports equipment and accessories.

“Together with ALTA banka, we have created a joint project aiming to refurbish five sports courts. But we will also extend invitations to all companies, as is the case with the ‘Green Novi Beograd‘ exercise, which is also underway, to show their social responsibility and allocate a portion of their operating income for these purposes in order for us to be able to refurbish as soon as possible as many playgrounds and sports courts as possible”, president of the Municipality said.

As a socially responsible company, ALTA banka traditionally supports young talented athletes in all sports. Accordingly, this donation is an additional step toward creating a healthy environment for our youngest population to grow in, thus making it possible for them to reach their full potential.

ALTA banka: Banks are the drivers of change in the field of digitalization

ALTA banka: Banks are the drivers of change in the field of digitalization

Washington, 21 st May 2024 – Mr. Milan Vićentić, Member of the Executive Board of ALTA Banka, was a panelist at the Digitalization, Banking Regulations and Financial Growth panel, held at the Southeast Europe Transatlantic Economic Forum, of which the venue was the United States Congress in Washington. This two-day event gathered state officials, business leaders and experts who discussed various ways of improving regional and transatlantic collaboration in the fields of energy, banking, and tourism.

As he spoke on behalf of ALTA banka of the banks’ role in digitalization and technology implementation for business growth purposes, Vićentić also presented the latest trends in the banking industry, with a particular focus on a more humane segment of AI, known as augmented intelligence, which assists humans rather than replaces them. Vićentić noted that it was evocative of a most true statement by Margrethe Vestager, EU Commissioner for Competition, who said on the use of AI that “On Artificial Intelligence, trust is a must, not a nice to have”. The latest research has shown that as many as 72% of managers thought their organizations would disregard the benefits of generic AI for ethical reasons, Vićentić mentioned, and added that as ever, the banks were, if not the drivers of change, then certainly among trailblazer industries to apply innovation in the field of digitalization, because of their goal to enhance customer satisfaction levels.

During the Forum, Ambassador John Craig presented to Davor Macura, PhD, President of the Board of Directors of ALTA banka and owner of Alta Pay Group, the NextGen Leader Award for his commitment to further strengthening transatlantic business relations between Serbia, the Western Balkans and the U.S.

As he was presenting the award, Ambassador Craig said that ALTA Group had rendered a strategic decision to establish strong business collaboration with companies and investment institutions in the United States.

“I believe there’s no better way to close the Southeast Europe Transatlantic Economic Forum, which has demonstrated the strength of transatlantic collaboration, than to present the appreciation plaques to the NextGen leaders, and thus wish to ALTA Group success in a new chapter and their upcoming activities in the United States”, Craig noted.

It is also worth mentioning that the President of the Board of Directors of ALTA banka and owner of Alta Pay Group, Davor Macura, PhD, participated in Washington in multiple strategic meetings with the representatives of American authorities, financial institutions and the media, including a meeting with Congressman John Moolenaar. Additionally, Alta Pay Group confirmed that it would participate in a panel discussion on how to promote and encourage the media’s responsibility and professional journalism in the era of fake news and disinformation, which global society is plagued by. The conference will be held in November at the National Press Club in Washington.
