ALTA Bank Wins the National “Đorđe Vajfert 2024” Award for Outstanding Community Contribution

ALTA Bank Wins the National “Đorđe Vajfert 2024” Award for Outstanding Community Contribution

ALTA Bank is the proud recipient of the “Đorđe Vajfert 2024” National Award for Corporate Social Responsibility, awarded by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, for its exceptional contribution to improving the quality of life in local communities. Within this competition, ALTA Bank – the fastest-growing bank in Serbia – was recognized as a model of good practice and awarded for its initiative “ALTA for Children’s Smiles”, which brought moments of care and humanity during the holiday season.

The initiative was carried out during the Christmas and New Year holidays, and later extended through Easter, reaching more than 15 institutions where over 1,000 children up to 18 years of age reside. The aim was to bring joy and support to the youngest members of society, emphasizing the importance of inclusion and solidarity.

Employees of ALTA Bank and ALTA Group were personally involved in the preparation, selection, and delivery of gifts – including books, coloring books, crayons, clothes, personal items, and sweet packages – contributing personally to the success of this noble mission. Each visit was an opportunity to create warm moments, meaningful interactions, and plans for future meetings. Through employee engagement, ALTA Bank further highlighted the values it upholds in its operations – empathy, responsibility, and active community care.

The initiative was carried out in cooperation with the Inclusive Center of Serbia and supported by the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs.

The award was accepted on behalf of ALTA Bank by Tatjana Kuljak, member of the Executive Board.

“We are honored that ALTA Bank has been recognized and awarded within the ‘Đorđe Vajfert 2024’ competition, as confirmation of our deep commitment to socially responsible business.

We do not see this only as an award, but as a motivation to continue being a reliable pillar of support to our community – especially to those who need it the most.

Through numerous humanitarian initiatives, we consistently support the most vulnerable groups – from socially disadvantaged populations to education and healthcare support.

We believe the true strength of an institution lies in its ability to show solidarity, stand by people in difficult times, and be a driver of positive change.

Our vision – ‘a bank tailored to people’ – is based on stability, responsibility, and genuine care for the community.
We will continue to invest in programs that create real impact and build bridges of trust between the financial sector and society.

Alongside our clients, employees, and all people of goodwill, we believe that together we can create a fairer and more humane society.”
— stated Kuljak.

As a responsible financial institution, ALTA Bank will continue to lead with purpose, carrying out humanitarian efforts and supporting the community, with a firm belief that investing in children and youth is key to building a better and more just future.

ALTA Bank Donates Gift Packages for Children’s Smiles: Children from Sremčica and the Children’s Village “Dr Milorad Pavlović” enjoyed the Surprise and Fellowship

ALTA Bank Donates Gift Packages for Children’s Smiles: Children from Sremčica and the Children’s Village “Dr Milorad Pavlović” enjoyed the Surprise and Fellowship

ALTA Bank, in collaboration with the Center for Inclusive Serbia, continues the “ALTA for Children’s Smiles” campaign with a strong message of love, inclusion, and solidarity, providing support to children placed in social care institutions across Serbia. As part of this campaign, visits to 14 institutions housing children of various ages were planned, with the goal of spending time together and donating New Year’s gift packages.

ALTA Bank distributed New Year’s gift packages to children in the Children’s Village “Dr Milorad Pavlović” in Sremska Kamenica and the Institution for Children and Youth “Sremčica.” The homes were visited by representatives of ALTA Group and ALTA Bank, the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans, and Social Affairs, and the Center for Inclusive Serbia.

“It is a great pleasure to have the opportunity to visit the Institution for Children and Youth ‘Sremčica,’ to share joy with them, and to offer our support. The time spent with them brought us happiness, and their smiles are the greatest reward and thanks. Our goal is for every child to have a chance for a happy and fulfilling childhood. We believe that initiatives like this are crucial for strengthening the sense of community and inclusion, and we are proud of the ‘ALTA for Children’s Smiles’ campaign. It is another step toward creating a society where children have the support they need for growth and success. We will continue working on projects that improve the quality of life. ALTA Group and ALTA Bank have been supporting young athletes, cultural events, and institutions for years. Our activities in 2025 will continue in line with ESG standards. This is our way of expressing gratitude and contributing to the communities where we operate,” said Zarije Korolija, on behalf of ALTA Group during the visit to Sremčica.

“We are extremely pleased that, in collaboration with the Center for Inclusive Serbia, we continue the ‘ALTA for Children’s Smiles’ campaign, which has a deeply humanitarian character and plays a significant role in the lives of children across Serbia. This campaign symbolizes our commitment to inclusion, solidarity, and providing love to children living in social care institutions. We are proud to donate not only New Year’s gift packages, but also smiles and fellowship. We thank all the homes and institutions that support this beautiful initiative and open their doors to us, especially the children who always remind us of the importance of unity and care for others,” said Milan Vićentić, a member of the Executive Board of ALTA Bank during the visit to the Children’s Village “Dr Milorad Pavlović” .

“It is a great pleasure that our little ones had the opportunity to host the representatives of the ‘ALTA for Children’s Smiles’ campaign. Our goal is for the children who grow up and leave the Children’s Village to simultaneously leave the social support and protection program. That is why inclusion is one of our core principles in working with them. We are grateful to ALTA Bank and the Center for Inclusive Serbia for their support and the holiday atmosphere they brought to our home,” said Mirko Jankelić, director of the “Children’s Village – Dr. Milorad Pavlović.”

“Being part of the ‘ALTA for Children’s Smiles’ campaign and bringing joy to children is a precious experience for the Center for Inclusive Serbia. The distribution of New Year’s gift packages is a small gesture of love and attention, but we believe it will bring warmth and happiness to the children, as every child deserves holidays filled with joy and smiles. We will strive to continue being part of their happiness because we believe that every smile makes the world a better place and that together we are creating an inclusive Serbia where every child will have the opportunity for a happy and fulfilling childhood,” said Miroslava Damjanović, president of the Board of the Center for Inclusive Serbia.

As part of the “ALTA for Children’s Smiles” campaign, gift packages have already been delivered to children in Bela Crkva, at the Vera Radivojević Home for Abandoned Children, as well as in Subotica, at the Kolevka Home for Children with Developmental Disabilities.

In line with its vision of being a “bank tailored to people,” ALTA Bank provided support to young athletes, sports clubs, and talents from various fields during 2024. The bank sponsors more than 20 sports associations and clubs, such as KK Crvena Zvezda, FK Vojvodina, and young fighters from the Jiu-Jitsu club “Naito” from Smederevo, who won 5 gold and 1 silver medal at the Balkan Championship in Romania. The bank also supports the regional project of the Young Sports Games, young karting drivers at the Karting Club Ada, and many others. It is also a sponsor of cultural events such as the Nišville Festival and the Kolarac Endowment.
These activities are part of ALTA Bank’s broader vision to contribute to the health and physical activity of young people, as well as to the promotion of sports values and fair play.

ALTA Winter Magic – People of Belgrade Enjoy Free New Year’s Program

Proud of its commitment and continuous support for young talents, as well as societal values through numerous humanitarian activities, the management and employees of ALTA Bank organized an unforgettable ALTA Winter Magic event. On Sunday, December 15, the square in front of the bank’s headquarters in New Belgrade was filled with numerous children, along with their parents, grandparents, and caregivers, who enjoyed a carefully curated New Year’s program. The square was magically decorated in the spirit of the season’s best messages and festive atmosphere, bringing joy to the surroundings of the bank every day.

Children sang the most cheerful New Year’s and Christmas songs with Leontina and the “Čarolija” choir, while adults reminisced about beautiful moments and their favorite songs. After a break and socializing, during which everyone enjoyed gifts and warm beverages prepared by ALTA Bank employees, the program continued with the performance of the play “Two New Year’s Trees“.

The Continuation of ALTA Winter Magic – Sunday, December 22, 2024

The continuation of ALTA Winter Magic awaits us next Sunday, December 22, when the program kicks off at 12 PM with a performance by the “Slavujčići” choir, whose young members preserve the rich tradition of our cultural heritage. At 1 PM, all attendees will have the opportunity to have fun and test their knowledge in the “New Year’s Riddles” game. Who will win – our brilliant children or their moms, dads, grandparents, and caregivers? We’ll find out soon!,

Numerous surprises will be provided for all visitors, and children will have a unique opportunity to whisper their wishes to Santa Claus and hope for the most beautiful gifts and moments for the upcoming year!

As an active member of the community and a company that cares about all its employees, clients, partners, and the community it serves, ALTA Bank concludes the year with a powerful message of humanity, solidarity, and inclusion. Through the “ALTA for Children’s Smiles” campaign, the bank will visit social care homes across Serbia in the coming period to share joy and New Year’s gift packages with the children.
