For the City We Love, New Life for the Block 28 Court

As part of the “For the City We Love” initiative, ALTA Bank has renovated another basketball court in Belgrade, right in the heart of Block 28, in New Belgrade. The goal of this initiative is to promote healthy lifestyles, strengthen team spirit, and preserve spaces that bring the local community together.

The court opening was held in great atmosphere, with neighbors, athletes, representatives from the New Belgrade municipality, and friends of the bank in attendance. We were also joined by basketball players from Red Star Basketball Club, who supported the initiative and spent time with the kids.

A special highlight was the exhibition match between BC Bahami and ALTA Bank’s basketball team, which thrilled the crowd and showed just how much sport can inspire and bring people together.

ALTA Bank continues to invest in projects that improve quality of life in communities, standing behind the belief that togetherness, friendship, and sporting values are born in places just like this.

After successfully completing the initiative in Sabac, we’re continuing with the ‘For the City We Love’ project. Our goal is to support children and young people because we believe that investing in sport means investing in a healthy and happy future. We want to create spaces together where positive energy, community spirit, and fair play thrive. ALTA Bank has been supporting young sports talents and numerous sports clubs for years, including Red Star Basketball Club, the Serbian Wrestling Federation, the Serbian Boxing Federation, and others,” said Dragana Topalović, ALTA Group.

With the support of AltaBank, the Serbian Capital Market celebrated 35 years at the White Palace

ALTA Bank had the honor of being the main sponsor of the ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of the establishment and development of the capital market in Serbia. The celebration was held yesterday, October 2, at the White Palace, in the presence of representatives of institutions, regulatory bodies, companies, investors, and members of the professional public from both Serbia and abroad.

The event provided an opportunity for guests to exchange experiences and address important questions about the future of the capital market, its role in attracting investments, fostering economic growth, and modernizing society. ALTA Bank was pleased to host the highest representatives of regional stock exchanges and capital markets. This exchange of experiences further strengthened the dialogue on the role of capital markets in connecting and improving the regional financial infrastructure.

Over the past decades, the Serbian capital market has undergone dynamic phases of transformation – from the establishment of institutions and the first securities issuances, to contemporary challenges of digitalization, sustainable financing, and integration with global markets. As a reliable partner of the economy, ALTA Bank has actively participated in these processes, supporting the development of investment potential and the improvement of the business environment.

It was our privilege to be part of this important moment, celebrating the past, strengthening the present, and opening the door to the future of the Serbian financial market. “ALTA Bank believes in the power of capital, long-term investment, and development based on trust and expertise, with a clear ambition to transfer its values and business models to international markets,” emphasized Dr. Una Sikimić, President of the Executive Board of ALTA Bank.

Once again, ALTA Bank reaffirmed its commitment to the development of the financial sector, highlighting the importance of innovation, transparency, and responsible business practices.

The Future of Finance – Open, Strategic, and Visionary: Alta bank at the ACI Serbia Panel

The Future of Finance – Open, Strategic, and Visionary: Alta BANK at the ACI Serbia Panel

On the Occasion of the 50th Anniversary of ACI Financial Markets Association Serbia, Una Sikimić, PhD, Chairwoman of the Executive Board of ALTA Bank, Participated in a Panel Discussion on the Future of the Financial Sector

In conversation with Željko Jović, Vice Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, and colleagues from leading financial institutions, key topics shaping the future of finance were discussed — from resilience and sustainability to the impact of technology on customer expectations and the redefinition of the role of banks in the new financial environment.

The dialogue clearly demonstrated that modern banking goes beyond interest rates and operational processes. Today, we are talking about systems that must be resilient, sustainable, and future-oriented.

ALTA Bank at the “Banking 2030” Panel

At a special panel discussion dedicated to the future of the banking sector, Una Sikimić, PhD, spoke about the key directions for banking development by 2030, with a focus on the evolution of the business model and the role of physical branches.

ALTA Bank is strategically focused on increasing client accessibility, as reflected in the extended working hours of its branches – until 8 p.m. on weekdays, until 10 p.m. in shopping malls, and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This approach has enabled the organic growth of the client base and a clear market positioning.

Branches are shifting from transactional models to advisory centers. Even the world’s most advanced banks confirm that the majority of accounts are still opened in physical branches, which demonstrates that branches will continue to play an important role in the future.

The topic of competition among commercial banks, neo-banks, and Big Tech companies raised an important question – can banks survive? ALTA Bank believes in cooperation rather than competition, and in creating synergies between traditional banking and technological innovation.

In the context of credit risk management under unstable global conditions, the importance of diversifying clients, products, and geographies was emphasized, as well as the careful balance between growth and risk – the foundation of stability for any financial institution.

ALTA Bank remains committed to developing digital services while also expanding physical accessibility, respecting the specifics of the domestic market and the needs of its clients. We believe that the combination of digital and traditional approaches is the key to success in the years ahead.

The panel also presented Alta Group’s strategic vision — through innovation, digitalization, and a strong institutional structure. Alta Group already demonstrates that it is possible to combine speed, efficiency, and reliability in a modern financial environment. As a unique concept integrating a bank, a leasing company, and an electronic money institution, Alta Group is developing on the foundations of innovation, expertise, and trust, with a clear strategy for sustainable growth and expansion.

Una Sikimić, PhD, Chairwoman of the Executive Board of ALTA Bank, expressed her gratitude for the invitation and the opportunity to speak on behalf of the team that every day demonstrates professionalism, dedication, and the ability to meet the highest standards of modern banking.

ALTA Bank Wins the National “Đorđe Vajfert 2024” Award for Outstanding Community Contribution

ALTA Bank is the proud recipient of the “Đorđe Vajfert 2024” National Award for Corporate Social Responsibility, awarded by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, for its exceptional contribution to improving the quality of life in local communities. Within this competition, ALTA Bank – the fastest-growing bank in Serbia – was recognized as a model of good practice and awarded for its initiative “ALTA for Children’s Smiles”, which brought moments of care and humanity during the holiday season.

The initiative was carried out during the Christmas and New Year holidays, and later extended through Easter, reaching more than 15 institutions where over 1,000 children up to 18 years of age reside. The aim was to bring joy and support to the youngest members of society, emphasizing the importance of inclusion and solidarity.

Employees of ALTA Bank and ALTA Group were personally involved in the preparation, selection, and delivery of gifts – including books, coloring books, crayons, clothes, personal items, and sweet packages – contributing personally to the success of this noble mission. Each visit was an opportunity to create warm moments, meaningful interactions, and plans for future meetings. Through employee engagement, ALTA Bank further highlighted the values it upholds in its operations – empathy, responsibility, and active community care.

The initiative was carried out in cooperation with the Inclusive Center of Serbia and supported by the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs.

The award was accepted on behalf of ALTA Bank by Tatjana Kuljak, member of the Executive Board.

“We are honored that ALTA Bank has been recognized and awarded within the ‘Đorđe Vajfert 2024’ competition, as confirmation of our deep commitment to socially responsible business.

We do not see this only as an award, but as a motivation to continue being a reliable pillar of support to our community – especially to those who need it the most.

Through numerous humanitarian initiatives, we consistently support the most vulnerable groups – from socially disadvantaged populations to education and healthcare support.

We believe the true strength of an institution lies in its ability to show solidarity, stand by people in difficult times, and be a driver of positive change.

Our vision – ‘a bank tailored to people’ – is based on stability, responsibility, and genuine care for the community.
We will continue to invest in programs that create real impact and build bridges of trust between the financial sector and society.

Alongside our clients, employees, and all people of goodwill, we believe that together we can create a fairer and more humane society.”
— stated Kuljak.

As a responsible financial institution, ALTA Bank will continue to lead with purpose, carrying out humanitarian efforts and supporting the community, with a firm belief that investing in children and youth is key to building a better and more just future.
